Matt Horan - Pacific Fuel Haul General Manager
Mar 10, 2017
Having established a new company direction and new company values, a review of the PFH organisational structure was next on the agenda late last year. The review identified a more effective organisational structure to support all staff, enabling a better utilisation of resources, maximising efficiencies and returns for both PFH and its clients, says Matt Horan, Pacific Fuel Haul's General Manager.
"Another important aspect of the review was developing a more positive company culture," says Matt. "Feedback from staff clearly showed a need to improve communications and build stronger relationships with our staff. We had become very tribal within the contracts we delivered leading to a loss of unity and identity with Pacific Fuel Haul."
The result was a new organisational structure was called ONEPFH. Reporting directly to Matt, Hayden Garing is now the National Contracts Manager responsible for Z Energy, Caltex and Farmlands contracts. Bryan Dalley remains the Contract Manager for Contact Energy, Road Science and Origin Energy. The Z Energy Team Leaders have now become PFH Team Leaders responsible for all Z Energy, Caltex and Farmlands drivers in their regions.
Improving staff and driver communications includes this regular newsletter – and having one driver meeting each month where all drivers for every contract will attend the same meeting. By also having Managers based in local regions, drivers will have daily communication and support when they require it.
"The new structure will also enable Andy and I to attend drivers meetings across the country," explains Matt. “To be able to catch up with staff is important to both Andy and I and we believe this structure will allow us to do that more effectively."
"The ONEPFH structure will breakdown the tribal barriers within the business and we will look to use our resources across all contracts to leverage on our size and to deliver a more cost effective solution to our customers. These are exciting times within PFH and I thank you in advance for your support."
