Auckland – a melting pot of cultures

Moving as much as 3.9 million litres in a 24 hour period, our Auckland branch is one of the busiest depots in the country.

Based at Wiri Oil Services Limited ( WOSL ) in South Auckland, the depot is a centralised operation for encompassing driving for the Z, Caltex brand and Farmlands tasks. While there are no cleaning bays onsite or workshops, the depot is centrally located to many service providers within a five minute drive, explains Wayne Harris, PFH’s Team Leader for the Upper North.

“The major benefit of this location is also its easy access from WOSL to motorways heading north, south, and west,” says Wayne. “Within a twelve hour shift we are able to cover as far North as Kaitaia and as far south as Stratford.”

Working 24/7, 365 days a year, the depot’s team includes 49 drivers as well as 11 administration, maintenance and managerial staff.

“Our most experienced driver would have been here for fourteen years while the newest team member has been here for only three months,” says Wayne.  “The team is made up of many different nationalities and cultures who have created an outstanding team spirit and work ethic. With everybody looking out for one and another, we have a great safety culture here.”
